Novaline Systems wasn't born in a boardroom. It came from years of working inside one of Ottawa's fastest-growing HVAC companies, building the systems, workflows, and tools that made scaling possible.

THE STORY

From the field
to the system.

I'm Nicolas Roy (2nd from the right). I have a background in architecture, which sounds unrelated until you realize that architecture is fundamentally about designing systems: how things fit together, how they flow, how they hold up under pressure.

That thinking translated directly when I joined Prestige Home Improvement (now TRALO). An Ottawa HVAC company with 9 people. Coming from the government, I wasn't sure what to expect. What I found was a business with real talent, strong service, and no operational backbone to support growth. Sound familiar?

Over the following years, I built it. The CRM architecture. The dispatch logic. The customer touchpoints. The AI assistants. Workflows. The internal tools. We grew from 9 to 37 employees. Won back-to-back Ottawa Business Journal Fastest Growing Company awards. Opened a second office in Halifax. And did it all while staying lean.

None of that happened because we threw more bodies at problems. It happened because we built smarter systems, ones that could scale without breaking, and that gave the team clarity on exactly what to do and when.

Eventually I realized that what we'd built wasn't just useful for one company. It was a playbook. And there were hundreds of trades businesses across Canada operating the exact same way we had at year one. Talented, growing, and flying completely blind operationally.

That's why Novaline Systems exists. To take what took us years to figure out and make it available to contractors who are ready to stop guessing and start building something durable.
